Green Waste Composting

Robinson Contract Services, in conjunction with the Waste Recycling Group (WRG) at their massive Welbeck waste receiving site near Wakefield, West Yorkshire, shreds, screens windrows and composts in excess of 10,000 tonnes of amenity green waste annually.

The Windrow compost is the most common method of composting garden waste. The waste is shredded and heaped into long windrows, which typically contain several hundred tonnes each, the windrows are systematically monitored for temperature and moisture to ensure that the composting process produces a quality product. Composting takes 8 - 12 weeks during which time each windrow is turned several times.

This is another example of the Company's commitment to recycling and re-using valuable organic material.
